TIPS |
This book is meant to introduce the basic concepts of reading in a fun and interactive way. It is in no way meant to be an exhaustive list of every tool or tip needed in order to learn how to read.
I encourage you to use every aspect of this book as a tool for deeper discussions with your class and your children. In addition to the strategies mentioned, this book also contains many additional tips that have been proven to increase their literacy skills. Please encourage your children to read at least 15 minutes every single day. Research has also shown that engaging children in a discussion before and after any book is read, not just during, enhances the learning process and overall cognitive skill development, leading to deeper critical thinking. This book includes some larger vocabulary words and concepts intentionally. I encourage you to use these as opportunities for further discussion with your children and introduce bigger words and ideas to them in early years and throughout life. Using larger words in childhood development is vital to helping children expand their vocabulary and make connections to the world around them. THE 5 MAIN READING TIPS THIS BOOK FOCUSES ON ARE: 1.) Introducing new vocabulary words 2.) Spelling words 3.) Listening to the story for meaning 4.) Imagination 5.) Rhyming |
